The Simon Commission had no Indian members.

The Short Version

Official records and standard historical references show the Simon Commission’s seven appointed members were all British parliamentarians. No Indian served as a formal member. Confusion usually comes from mixing the commission itself with Indians who later gave evidence, advised, or responded to it.

Caveats

  • The claim is only about formal membership; Indians were involved in reactions, testimony, and later constitutional discussions, but that does not make them commission members.
