Privacy

IsThisBS has no accounts, no comments, no newsletters, and no ads. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any information you type — there is nowhere on the site to type anything except the search box, which runs entirely in your browser.

The one thing we measure is traffic. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which fact checks get read. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type; Google's handling of that data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. We use the resulting statistics in aggregate only, we don't try to identify individual visitors, and we don't sell or share data with anyone else. If you block analytics with a browser extension or tracker blocker, the site works exactly the same.

Under EU data-protection law (GDPR) you can ask what data exists about you and ask for it to be deleted. Since we hold no visitor data ourselves, such requests effectively concern Google Analytics — contact us via GitHub and we will help, or use Google's opt-out tools directly.

The verdicts on this site are produced by an automated fact-checking engine — Lenz — that checks each claim against independent sources. They are research aids, not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice, and not statements of opinion by any person. Verdicts reflect the evidence available at the time of the check and can change as evidence changes.

The site is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. We work to keep it accurate, but we don't guarantee that any verdict, summary, or source excerpt is complete, current, or error-free. If a check looks wrong, use the Flag this check link at the bottom of that article (or open a GitHub issue directly) — the fastest way to fix a bad check is to flag it.
