However, official Stats Kenya data places Kenya's paved road network at approximately 24,868 km as of June 2024, and Ruto himself has cited "22,000 kilometres" in other contexts, meaning the 20,000 km figure significantly understates the actual network.

Caveats

  • Official Stats Kenya data (June 2024) places Kenya's paved road network at 24,868 km — nearly 25% higher than the 20,000 km figure Ruto cited.
