Bohm's broader metaphysics remains a minority position in academic physics and philosophy. Authoritative reference works and scholarly studies describe Bohmian mechanics as historically outside mainstream acceptance and the implicate order as largely absent from contemporary philosophy of physics. Specialized research and some pragmatic use of Bohmian methods do not amount to broad acceptance of Bohm's metaphysical framework.
