The claim holds in a limited statistical sense, not as proof that faces reliably reveal personality in everyday judgment.

Caveats

  • Do not interpret this as evidence that a face can reliably reveal an individual person's personality.
  • Much of the literature concerns first impressions or perceived traits, which are not the same as actual measured personality.
